Rolling Thunder A Main Winner

2011 Feature Winners....

Late Model Oraganization T Shirts

Mike Wilbern's 1st Win!After staying in 2nd place Mike Wilbern moved up to 1st place for the last handful of laps in the A Main Rolling Thunder Feature. Mike took home $1100 cash, $100 certificate and a 24" Trophy. Congrats Mike on a great race.

Note: Saturday, August 20 was not a scheduled race and was handled by the track not the organization. It was also not for points. We still included the results on our site, however they were taken directly from Thunderbird's website and only include the top 10.

About us

About Us

Thunderbird Late Model Organization was created so late model drives will have more of a say in the racing program at Thunderbird. The organization works with thngs such as payouts, helping the track, the late model bank account, determining line ups and etc.

Some new business for the late models 2011 season this year are:

$1000 payout for first place every week.

Trophies will be given out for 1st, 2nd & 3rd places of the feature race. As well as a giant check for 1st place.

$30 in tow money for drivers over 50 miles

A seperate bank account for the late model organization that will be maintained by the late model organization.

Things such as drawing for line ups and pay out after the feature will be done in the pits.

The late models will be creating a newsletter called the Track Insider that will be sold to fans. Sponsorship and procedes of this newsletter will go to the organization.

Later in the season we will be looking to create Late Model Tshirts for everyone in the organization to have and to sell to fans.

With excess money in the account we are hoping to have a points party at the end of the year and/or to donate some money to fix something up at the track.

Place Payout

Port City Racecars will award the following at each Late Model Organization event for the 2011 season.

1st Place: $100 product certificate

2nd - 5th: $50 product certificate

6th - 10th: $25 procuct certificate.

To be eligible for the Port City Racecars program, a Port City Racecars decal must be displayed on both sides of the race car. These decals can be obtained at the late model organization tent on Saturdays or earlier if the driver schedules to pick one up by calling the organization.

Certificates are to be redeemed at retail value, no other discounts or promotions will be applicable. Certificates are not valid for fule or tires.

Additonal Payout Information

An additional $30 in tow money will be added to the start pay for out of town drivers (specifically drivers, not car owners). Drivers who travel more than 50 miles to Thunderbird will be considered out of town.

1st Place in the A main will also win a 24" trophy and a big printed check.

2nd Place will receive a 18" trophy.

3rd Place will receive a 12" trophy and a $50 certificate to Keyser's Port City Racing in Coopersville, MI.

If there is a B main there will be $100 pay out for first place and the winner will receive a 18" Trophy.
